At FUMC, we take Christian Education seriously! Join us on Sunday mornings for children and adult classes.
Adults meet in the library and study different books or DVD series. There is great discussion and a great fellowship If you are looking for a place to learn, a place to feel welcome and a place to become part of a family of believers, this is the place for you. Classes are led by a rotating schedule of lay people.
Children meet in the children’s classroom in the education wing. We have fun games, crafts and a lesson to guide us into a lasting relationship with Jesus. We are currently studying the attributes of God. We have learned so far that God is almighty, the alpha and omega, and awesome!
Jr. Church takes place immediately after the children’s sermon during the morning worship service. We are finishing up a series called Disciple Me that relates the gospel to the popular movie, Despicable Me. We have learned that Jesus can change even a villain’s heart and that minions don’t always make the best decisions but Jesus can redeem them too! On March 17th, we will study the story of the prodigal son and beginning March 24th, we will begin studying Easter Science! Your children will enjoy the fun, interactive curriculum with games, crafts, lesson trivia and much more!
We have a comfortable, loving staff of volunteers ready to nurture your babies newborn – kindergarten in our soothing nursery. All of our volunteers in the Christian Education department have Safe Sanctuary Training and criminal and child abuse history clearances. You can rest assured that your littlest blessing will be safe, secure and pampered with our caring staff.
We are currently studying a series by Adam Hamilton entitled “Simon Peter, Flawed but Faithful Disciple”. We meet Tuesday, March 12, 19, 26 and April 2, 9 and 16 at 7:00 pm in the church library. This is an interactive study including a short video segment filmed where Simon Peter walked. We encourage you to join us as we study Simon Peter’s courage, determination, his longing to follow Jesus at all cost and his shortcomings that often remind us of our own.
We have several class meetings during the week that meet in homes and the church to dig deeper into Pastor Wade’s Sunday sermon. If you are looking for a more intimate setting to grow together, nurture each other and discuss life, consider a class meeting. To discuss which meeting may be the one for you, contact the Christian Education Director, Robyn Shields at email@example.com.
